由于说唱音乐源自美国黑人贫民社区，所以说唱音乐一直以来都是黑人的专利，直到上世纪80年代白人说唱组合Beastie Boys在说唱音乐上获得了一定的成功，以及后来的Eminem大红大紫，才逐渐淡去了肤色上的变相歧视，回归到音乐上的真实自我表达。
由于说唱音乐是街头文化的主要基调，所以歌词永远是一个Rapper的灵魂。虽然很多说唱音乐的歌词用大量的脏口描述了帮派之争、暴力情色、及时行乐等主题，但是也出现了大量的表现平等自由、纯真之情的真诚之作。这毕竟是一个真实的社会，无论黑与白，都真实的发生在这个世界里。无论高尚还是丑陋，人都需要表达，需要真实的表达，我认为说唱音乐最彻底的地方即是真实的实现自我表达。
另外提一下这期音乐的封面故事，这张照片是由澳大利亚摄影师drifterManifesto拍摄的，美国的朋克乐队Fall Out Boy曾把它用作他们《Save Rock And Roll》的专辑封面。就如封面上摇滚少年与佛教男孩中间流露出的冲突与新旧对比，充分的体现了人的内在冲突以及外在世界里永不可调和的矛盾。当然，一意有百解，或许你会有不同的看法。
